I don't agree with him tbh. IS is very powerful and even though none of our politicians like to call it a state it is one by all intents and purposes and its a state thats more powerful than half the members of the UN. He says 'they'd quickly be crushed if they ever faced a proper enemy on a real battlefield', are the Kurds not a proper enemy? Are the Syrian army? There have been real battles against real enemies across a lot of the Middle East, they've lost some but they've also won a hell of a lot. They've been bombed for months and it hasn't stopped them expanding. There have been signs of progress but only really very recently now that strikes have been stepped up and the Russians have become involved.
He makes a lot of good points about how we should react to terror attacks but its also dangerous to underestimate their threat imo
