The suggestion that Trump is being "very clever" and somehow invalidating rebuttal or retaliation by making sweeping statements about "Islam" instead of "Muslims"  .

Well probably 95% of people now admit that Iraq was a massive mistake but over 90% of MPs still voted for the UK to bomb ISIS in the country. A lot of people will also say that the Iraq invasion was a big mistake but not the action against the country in the Gulf war. I don't think its a contradiction to point out the obvious that not all military intervention is exactly the same.
