I find it funny that the only defence there is to Aubrey's spitgate is that 'Bear obviously didn't care so why does it matter?' There is no defence to her spitting in his food and drink imo. All i read was that others were disgusted as well, i didnt see any 'he deserved it' but if you have then fair enough.
Whether we found it unacceptable Bear obviously didnt think the same way. I can be disgusted on my own behalf because to me spitting is disgusting.
