Uni is a mind**** like this in first year and it can be pretty ****, there's a crazy amount of pressure to make 'friends for life' straight away even though you've only been there a few weeks and you're trying to come to terms with the whole experience of it all. Conventional wisdom is always just that its amazing without any qualification, 'best time of your life' etc. etc. I didn't really take to it straight away and it took me quite a while to feel comfortable at Uni - well over a year. In my second year I lived with people I didn't know first year because I wasn't really in a set group so missed out.

I would only say not to stress about it too much, you're still early into what is really quite a brief period of your life in any case - its not worth spending too much time worrying. And two months is a tiny part of your Uni experience so there's still so many opportunities to make use of.
