The polls were wrong by a few percentage points in the 2015 GE and the Brexit vote, almost within the margin of error, they were not twenty points out. Even if you want to ignore the polls then just look at Labour's electoral performance under Corbyn - they lost Copeland with a 7% swing to the Tories, that was almost unprecedented. If that happened nationwide they'd lose literally dozens of seats. They also had one of the worst performances of an opposition party in local elections in years and they were beaten to second in the Scottish elections by the Tories.
I highly doubt that 20 point Tory lead will hold but I'd also be very surprised if they don't increase their majority by at least 50
