They really are. Maybe you don't find it insulting because it wasn't directed at you

I can't remember what thread it was but I myself was referred to a cat lady on Tibb, and it was posted as an insult after a disagreement with the person in question. There's nothing wrong with speaking about demographics at all - as long as it's not insulting. Using phrases like the one mentioned is rude and uncalled for. If I created a thread asking "Who will the "young gays' vote go to?" people would be all over the report button quicker than flies to a dog turd.
