No i really don't know what you mean. Covering your bases sounds like you're going to get in trouble if you're wrong about who you pick or something
I usually don't join fanclubs either until a couple of weeks in for normal BB (except this year because I knew Raph from the forum) but for CBB since we already know alot of the HMs I think it's ok to join straight away. Anyway people can always leave if they change theirs minds on someone, better than sticking rigidly to a HM just because you joined a fan club imo
