Entirely different to lonely old people, who are lonely through their friends/families either dying or they too are old and frail and don't see one another. There's a reason loneliness and isolation is a problem amongst the elderly.

That's not to say people from all walks of life and ages can't be in a similar predicament, but it's not as widespread.
You are missing the point, this has nothing to to with loneliness, it's about bed blocking, most people in hospital want to go home, they don't want to go into a strangers house, they want to go home, be in their own environment and have trained carers to look after them , they don't want some random homeowner looking to maximise profit frying sausages for them no matter how lonely they are
