I assume the "B&B" nature of the scheme includes food?

Yes, but it's for the lonely people who don't have much in the way of visitors and people looking out for them. There'll be a lot less patients outside of the OAP age range.

I imagine anyone in great need of constant medical attention would qualify to remain in a bed in hospital. This is for those who need a little time to recuperate, live isolated lives but are otherwise fine to be out of hospital.

B and B is what it says on the tin, no one is going to provide 3 meals a day and a room for 50.00, 90 kids a day are taken into care most of those will stay there who will be there for them in young adulthood? Or If they need surgery, it's a cop out to say it's elderly people who will need this predominantly

It's not a cop out.

Kids who are taken into care have those systems in place for them. Doesn't automatically mean they'll go through life/adulthood without forging any relationships, friendships, lives for themselves.

Entirely different to lonely old people, who are lonely through their friends/families either dying or they too are old and frail and don't see one another. There's a reason loneliness and isolation is a problem amongst the elderly.

That's not to say people from all walks of life and ages can't be in a similar predicament, but it's not as widespread.

You are missing the point, this has nothing to to with loneliness, it's about bed blocking, most people in hospital want to go home, they don't want to go into a strangers house, they want to go home, be in their own environment and have trained carers to look after them , they don't want some random homeowner looking to maximise profit frying sausages for them no matter how lonely they are

I don't think I am, given the interview I watched concerning this scheme on the news this morning.

It's about bed blocking, ergo getting rid of the patients who don't need to be in hospital, but sometimes remain there a little longer than necessary because they don't have anyone to help them out at home, especially if they're recuperating from an operation or something. This usually pertains to the elderly.

No, I too don't find that many people, even if they do live in isolation and struggle to care for themselves, would like the idea of living in some stranger's house no matter how short term. But that is the idea behind the scheme anyway.
