Sadly though, historic cases just muddy the water because such a very small percentage will ever be proven and without proof there's no justice for the victim, nor for the accused. Yeah I know, unless there is an admission of guilt or some proof/witness etc it comes down to one persons word against an others. In some historic cases though it was reported at the time (particularly to do with priests) and nothing was done about it because they had all the power back then. In extreme cases a priest was moved on to a different parish.
