Yeah I know, unless there is an admission of guilt or some proof/witness etc it comes down to one persons word against an others. In some historic cases though it was reported at the time (particularly to do with priests) and nothing was done about it because they had all the power back then. Despicable. It always seems worse to me when it's someone in a position of trust like that with kids. They're supposed to feel safe and be protected by the church. But yes, if there was a report at the time then the person who ignored the report, or shoved it at the bottom of some large pile, should also be done for... I don't know, negligence? Something.
