While it's important to tell women (and in some cases, men) to stand up for themselves we must put more emphasis on trying to tackle the source of it, the people committing these acts that have no respect for the genders they are attracted to.
Yeah, agree with that, alongside women standing up for themselves when they are able. And men also, who find themselves in these circumstances. Also though, I think co-workers need to be vigilant if we're going to stamp this out. Not speaking out is the same as accepting that kind of behaviour is acceptable, and it's not.

I think maybe that's why there are so many historic cases coming to light now though because it was seen as acceptable (especially by people in powerful positions)

*I know not all the historic claims may be genuine but I have no doubt that alot are as well

I'm agreeing with everyone today! Well, not everyone... But yes, I agree with that. Sadly though, historic cases just muddy the water because such a very small percentage will ever be proven and without proof there's no justice for the victim, nor for the accused. Hopefully in the future, it will get better, unless we're going to update our outrage every time we become a little more civilised.

Yeah I know, unless there is an admission of guilt or some proof/witness etc it comes down to one persons word against an others. In some historic cases though it was reported at the time (particularly to do with priests) and nothing was done about it because they had all the power back then. In extreme cases a priest was moved on to a different parish.

Despicable. It always seems worse to me when it's someone in a position of trust like that with kids. They're supposed to feel safe and be protected by the church. But yes, if there was a report at the time then the person who ignored the report, or shoved it at the bottom of some large pile, should also be done for... I don't know, negligence? Something.

Yeah definitely but I suppose if you were a paedophile and you were thinking about job options wouldn't you be thinking all your Christmases had come at once, respected and protected whilst you ruin childrens lives
