I haven't read through all of this thread but to answer the question simply, NO is the answer.
It's music of BLACK ORIGIN, it's not specifically black people only, as Amy Winehouse and others that are not black but make music of that genre won awards. There's no debating of "oh if it was white awards" etc, it just can't be compared in any argument about race, because white people as a race have never and never will suffer racism to the magnitude of what black or Asian people have and still suffer from today, although obviously not on such a grand scale. I'm not saying white people can't be the victims of racism, but as a race the white people (of which I'm one) have never suffered, have never been seen as the lesser human beings and have never been in a position where they don't have power.
