[Residents in Saggart on the south-west fringes
of Dublin still proudly refer to their leafy town with a traditional Irish pub, church and local high street as a village. But the sleepy community has seen itself become the front-line of unrest as Ireland's migrant crisis explodes into fiery disorder amid tensions over a local hotel housing 2,300 asylum seekers - one third the town's total population. Riots have convulsed quiet Saggart for the past two nights after the alleged sexual assault of a 10-year-old Irish girl by a 26-year-old African migrant due to be deported outside the controversial Citywest Hotel. Officers have fought pitched battles with furious locals, stopping a crowd of hundreds gaining access to the hotel complex. Some of the protesters have even charged police with horse-drawn carts and three Gardaí have been hospitalised.] https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-old-girl.html
