Default Women Voting.

I know a lot of people say it annoys them when women do not vote, as women in the past have gone through so much to get the vote. What do you think about this? Do you think that women should be given this emotional pressure to vote?

Your honesty is refreshing - better than blindly voting for policies about which you have no understanding. Perhaps you should make an effort to find out about the different viewpoints of the party and make a considered judgment. After all, there was a time when even men could not vote unless they owned land. A vote is a precious thing and should be exercised otherwise it is pointless and stupid to bleat and moan about the government if you have not even been arsed enough to cast your vote in the first place.

I guess they wanted the choice to vote more than anything else.

See, you give them the vote after they nag for ages, and don't use it.

Of course they shouldn't. Men aren't pressured into it so neither should women be.

I dont think anyone should put them under any pressure to vote at all.

Its hard enough for the poor things walking into a polling station, finding their ballot papers and then looking down and seeing all those choices. Polling stations are only open for 13 hours how on earth is a women expected to make her mind up in that timeframe.

It may be just now, but he could be the man who controls the balance of power if neither horse wins by a decent length.

Maybe
but we have to await
the Voters to say.

New Labour could lose loads of seats.
Again we have to see how the voters vote.

No one has to vote if they don't want to.

People have fought and died for my right to freedom of speech, but that doesn't mean I am obligated to wear a t-shirt saying "I survived AIDS, I use condoms" everyday or stand around in the middle of town with a megaphone telling everyone exactly what I think of them.

Absolutely right - but if you don't exercise your right to vote, it seems rather ridiculous to then moan and whinge about a government whose policies you don't like.

It's not just women who had to fight for the right to vote, black people in America did, Irish people had to fight to get back our country so that we could have and vote for our own government etc etc. So to just single out women as the ones who should be so grateful and ashamed of themselves for not voting is a bit stupid.

Having said that I do always use my vote.

Great answer except I'm guilty of not even voting as a white male if have sussed it'll not make a difference in constituency in the past. This time I'm voting SNP hard in British Election and encouraging everyone to come out and give overwhelming support to free Scotland. Even if New Labour retain a small hold in our inner cities which helps them in hung Parliament, the message is sent - we no longer want any part of your country of England/Wales

That was the correct answer - I started doubting you when U said "they'll be having a party in Ross tonight" after CIS Cup Final. I'm slightly impressed tcheuchter

I totally agree with most of you. It's silly to be forced. We live in a country where people have the right to do basically anything they like..
