Kerry Taylor, acting SVP and director of television at MTV Networks UK & Ireland, said: "It's fantastic that the UK is going to be the first international MTV territory to take inspiration from the cultural phenomenon that is Jersey Shore and reimagine it for a UK audience.

"Newcastle is an amazing city with a culture and ethos of its own. So while the location and cast will of course be new, viewers will absolutely relate to their trials and tribulations and ultimately welcome them into their homes, every week."

Geordie Shore will be executive produced by Fiona O'Sullivan, head of factual at Lime Pictures, and Steve Regan, editorial director at MTV UK.
Those type of shows never work in the UK but that title is FANTASTIC.

It's the kind of show that is awful yet you're addicted to it because it's terrible. Bring it on.

I think they should have a Bad Girls Club too with the girl chavs and stuff. Brilliant.

The Real World is the king of this kind of Reality TV, Everyone needs to realise that and get their head out of Jersey Shore's arse.

It's bollocks.

Still though, will be watching this

But Geordies are over rated
Anyways though, it'll still be a laugh I just hope it isn't bollocks.

Dezzy is right though, these type of shows flop in the UK.

So I can't see it lasting more than one series, but then again.. look at how well The Only Way Is Essex is doing.
