Waddup friends! It's that time of year where you all have to get your nice thinking caps on and think about the reasons why you log in every day (a compulsive need to download photos from Meet The Members does not count. Ahem.) and reward those reasons in a thread of self gratitude and a general evening of love and affection.

The format:

Round 1 - every member can nominate up to 10 members (ideally you will nominate 10) who they believe should qualify for the Most Loved Top 50(ish) count down - you do not rank these in order, but just list ten names. Three nominations (that is, three different members listing, for example, Patrick in their ten nominations) qualify that member for the second round of voting.

Rules for round 1 - you may not nominate permanently banned members, and all members are free to withdraw themselves from being nominated if they so wish. Last time around, Claymores did not wish to be nominated even though he had qualified for round 2, so he was withdrawn from the competition and members who had voted for him were allowed to use their nomination on another member instead.

Round 2 - This is where it gets more interesting. After 50ish members have qualified for round 2, the shortlist will be posted and round 2 will open. Members must then choose their top 10 favourite members from this list of 50 and rank them in order of preference, from 1st to 10th place, and send their vote to me in a Private Message. You MUST include reasons for voting for these members as when I do the count down, I will be typing up a paragraph with reasons why each member is loved by the forum. 1st place in a set of votes in round 2 will receive 10 points, 2nd place = 9 points ... 10th place = 1 point.

Final list - The first round, where members received nominations, will be multiplied by 3 to give the top 50 members a first round score (e.g. if Patrick received 5 nominations, he'd have 15 points in round 1) which will be added to the second round score (e.g. if Patrick received 59 points overall in round 2) giving a final score (e.g. Patrick would have 74 points) and this overall score will be used to dictate where members finish on the final list.

I won't open nominations just yet, so that people can ask any questions they may have if they aren't familiar with the competition, but will probably open them in about an hour if there aren't any questions!

The voting procedure for Round 2 is as follows:

You must choose TEN users from this list, no more, no less, and rank them in order of preference from top to bottom in the PM (first name = 1st place, tenth name = 10th place) along with reasons for your choice. Reasons can just be a couple of words or they can be long paragraphs detailing why you love this member, but you must pick ten and ten only. You may not vote for yourself if you are included on the list, but you may still vote; all users are welcome to vote. Anyone who is included on this list is welcome to withdraw from the list and another user will take their place on the list according to Round 1 votes and a random pick as made by my lovely co-host Emily Walcott-Barnaby (my alter ego for the competition, she's blonde and has a prominent jaw, don't stare at for the love of God) - but please note that this is a positive competition and is all in the name of good fun. The Eurovision scoring system shall be used, so in your votes for Round 2, first place shall receive 12 points, second = 10, third = 8, fourth = 7 down to tenth = 1 point. This is why you must choose ten people in your vote, to make sure everyone's vote is equal. I will not accept incomplete votes.
