Series director is different to director, correct me if I'm wrong tho; series directors decide how the "end product" looks, basically. And this years "end product" wasn't very good at all.

Denis O'Connor creates the twists, and Ben Hardy decides how they turn out.

Hardy has worked on Big Brother since 2009, so he's not the issue. The issue is Denis O'Conor who this year was given the role as creative director.

Denis O’Conor has been promoted to a new role – creative director. As well as looking over the main show, he will look after spin-off shows Big Brother’s Bit on the Side and Celebrity Big Brother.

Alongside Katy Manley and Susy Price, he has been a producer on the show for three years. He also produced the final series of Big Brother on Channel 4 back in 2010.

Reporting to Initial managing director, Nick Samwell-Smith, O’Connor will take up the new position immediately. O’Connor said he had “some big ideas in the pipeline” for this summer’s series.

Samwell-Smith added that O’Connor had “played a pivotal role” in the success of the format.

“He is a brilliantly creative producer and with Denis at the helm Big Brother couldn’t be better placed to keep fans enthralled year after year,” he added.
