Default Waking-up from the dead.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-44681264

I actually find this quite scary as I have often wondered WHAT IF!

How do we know the experts can’t get it wrong - this certainly suggests they can! Could it lead to waking up six feet under! Shivers run down my spine at the thought of it.

This is a fear of mine brillo, that is why I wont be buried,,it's a horrible thought,I'de rather be cremated at least then there is no doubt you are gone, even better go on a human farm or leave your body to medical science, you have absolutely no chance if you are buried alive,it has happened quite a lot.

It’s awful Kaz. You have to trust that the system is infallible - but the reality is it isn’t. For me it just increases the fear of dying. Reassurance is futile when you read articles like this.

Do they! Never quite sure if you are joking LT - but if true it sounds like a good idea to me - but you would have to ‘come back’ pretty quickly or you would simply suffocate.

It is where the expression

"All I desire for my own burial is not to be buried alive." - Lord Chesterfield, 1769.

"Have me decently buried, but do not let my body be put into a vault in less than two days after I am dead." - deathbed request of George Washington.

"Swear to make them cut me open, so that I won't be buried alive."- Frederic Chopin's last words.

Blimey - seems it is a pretty common fear that can be due to the reality of the possibility rather than just an irrational fear.

Aren't people usually embalmed before burial? Or is that terribly old-fashioned?

I simply won't have to face this 'Premature Burial' problem having just whupped The Grim Reaper 'Bill and Ted' style in a game of chess.

Or ask for a vial of poison to finish yourself off if you wake up in the coffin.

Thinking burial. Ok, rotting is not very pleasant, but this way the body is most useful to the environment as nourishment

The general idea is that you're dead.

Besides they'd not have crawl up there. They'd start munching on you from all sides
