I reckon she is spot on?

"Manufactured controversy is undeniably popular. What else can explain The X Factor? Not for weeks, probably, because there's still Katie, Paije, Treyc, Wagner and Mary to weed out, in no particular order, before the more sorrowful goodbyes, to Aiden and Rebecca, start coming. Then there's the ding-dong between Cher, Matt and One Direction.

The tension isn't mounting. But I'm still hooked. Perhaps it's the certain knowledge that it definitely, profoundly, doesn't matter in the least, that is the key to the appeal of the whole, tacky, tawdry, compulsive extravaganza."

Uh.
The writer supposes we have yet to 'weed out Mary' before we get to the more sorrowful business of losing Aiden.
Wow.

I'm not saying anything is impossible nor do I know the voting numbers or odds,
but,
Realistically Aiden is going to be lucky to make it another week or two (and mainly because he is waiting behind 4 other mediocre acts to leave).
Mary is more likely a 'solid bet' for a Top 3 spot.

But that aside - this thing has had too many manufactured behind-the-scenes controversies (barely inspiring anyone) and not enough getting booted.

I admit I'm starting to lose interest knowing the top 5 will have to keep singing over and over week after week while we take 2 months (it seems) to lose the Aidens, Katies, Boy bands who are obviously not going to make it.

yeah, I'm surprised about Mary, I thought she was a favourite. I'm still in shock as to how One Direction have managed to become favourites too

Cher isn't in the same league as Rebecca, Rebecca can sing
