I still recommend ieSpell for IE - it installs seamlessly and can be initiated from several locations - IE toolbar, mouse right-click and integrated button .....

I have chrome and it does the spell checker for me.

Sometimes I like to be a rebel and ignore the bastard thing telling me that I'm wrong with that silly red line.

Opera does this but I'm sure it uses an american spellcheck. As it keeps telling me to spell things wrong
