Style over Content appealing to the Heart's of America rather than the Brains. May be that Party think Americans are all Brainless, or at least over-emotionally driven

I'd of thought most Americans we're bright enough to realize that they lost there jobs because of a recession. Recessions are seeded five, ten, fifteen years since.
Not knowing an awful lot on American Politics, i have to see it in likeness to Cameron being blamed for the errors of Brown when he was the Chancellor and allowed the Banks so much freedom, as he believed that markets could govern themselves. Back to the add though, it's truly a sign of the times when an ad to elect a President, can contain not one single Policy for you to judge them by. It will be interesting to see if the Democrats, tit for tat to prompt the kind of m.a.d(mutually assured Destruction) debate that is becoming the way of Politics. Perhaps they could find some pictures which show Bush's terms in office to malign the Republic Party. Your right it's a powerful ad, but has it got any credibility if you want to make a Judgement on the Republic Parties ability to Govern, or the Democratic Parties ability? No. Last edited by Cromwell1900; 23-09-2011 at 04:44 PM. |

Yes this was debated and shown today
on the BBC Daily Politics. Pointing out no new policy - but big images. The Sirens are on for the first bit with Barack and Real NBC Business news clips then its better sounds the Horse and Stern Faces looking to a New President The Sounds and fast images make this Mini (1min 45seconds) Movie a winner. Hell of a Movie Last edited by arista; 23-09-2011 at 05:23 PM. |

It's not a winner at all it's a pile of stinking crap, destined for the dustbin of Humanity, reserved only for the disgusted eyes of 22nd Century, History Students, studying the 21st Century and where did it all go wrong.
If you want to be controlled by your emotions go ahead but i like a bit of Politics with my Politics. Last edited by Cromwell1900; 23-09-2011 at 06:08 PM. Reason: Mis-understanding previous post |

"Strange use of the word Race, i'm drawn to an inescapable assumption do you dislike Obama for more than his Politics? "
Thats what they call it out there a Race to Win. Barack is OK but running a Nation and getting downgraded effects trade He is a Great Speaker - but in power he is not good for America. Its nothing at all to do with color. (thats the yanks way of spelling color) |

I can't really comment on the Political effectiveness of Obama to an American. But as an outsider he has lifted, i think most people's respect for the Country after Bush's reign was marked with criticism both of the Man and his decisions, and also his relationships with the Businessmen seen as complicit in the downfall of the American economy. I judge him and America as follows A He's not Bush. B He's Black (i.e America is not as Racist and/or un-democratic as once i believed) C He speaks with a language void of rhetoric. Maybe the true test of the man can be found, when he does or does not release a Political Movie like the one in your Post. If i saw that coming from Obama/Democrats then it's time to rethink. |

I would never ever vote for a republican EVER.
That being said, i really like this ad. It's really well done, the music is great, and the way they showed all the empty businesses and dead towns and then had Obama saying "I'M JUST GETTING STARTED!" was very impactful.. Also i think it's clever that they are trying to rebrand the famous "O" for Obama, as a zero instead of an O, and calling him president zero. It's just very clever. The ending was very inspiring. That all being said, I'd never ever vote for a republican, and this ad isn't really for people like me, it's for the majority of people who are undecided, and don't have a strong allegience to any particular party. It's a good ad.

Rick Perry is a religions zealot. BTW, Obama is beloved by the world, so I don't know what anger you're speaking of. He got Osama bin Laden, so I guess al Qaeda probably hates him.

It never occurred to me to view the Film in a purely Cinematic way tbh. The good Cinematography supports the bad message and the whole thing leaves me cold. |

Rick Perry sounds like a tool, was reading today that he apparently hunts at some place called "niggerhead" and brought friends and supporters there with him. He claimed he had the name painted over in the early 80's but it was still there in recent years and can still be faintly seen today

Dont you just hate contradicting yourself
Well i thought i'd have a read up on this guy, as it seems he may be a contender, and, i read a few articles about the hunting camp, and i thought hmm a lot of crap gets thrown around at election time, so who knows. Then i read how he was the Governor of Texas just like Bush was and a compromise should not be drawn, all pretty much logical, unemotional responses as politics should be seen i think. Then i saw this picture and thought OOPH! I don't like this guy. http://opinion.latimes.com/.a/6a00d8...1937aa3970b-pi I can't think of a better illustration of why Hollywood and Politics should not mix Last edited by Cromwell1900; 03-10-2011 at 05:29 PM. |

Watching the Republican Debate now, they're all incredibly irritating, just repeating the usual Right-Wing NeoCon rhetoric, the only ones which seem to offer any coherent and rational policies are Ron Paul and Mitt Romney but still I don't think either would make an particularly good candidate

I'd never vote for republicans or any right wing candidate, but i am disgusted that there is not opposition to Obama in the left wing. The left is given no choices at all, i'm absolutely disgusted by the way Obama has performed for the last 4 years, he's been more than a disappointment., just as bad as Bush, and the American left is given no true opposition to Obama whatsoever. This will probably be the first time i don't vote. I would never vote for the right, but i can't bring myself to vote for Obama eigther. I will abstain probably.

The current sitting President of a Party is almost never opposed. It was done once in 1980 with Jimmy Carter, and look what happened. What exactly is your problem with Obama? You didn't get a pony? Obama is doing the best that he can with the nutcase Republicans in charge of the House. The legislation coming out of that place, is frightening! There are many things I don't agree with Obama on, but trust me, he's done a million things right. His problem is continuing Right wing policies. If you don't vote, don't come crying when the Right's nut case, worse than Bush, gets into power. You are cutting off your nose to spite your face. Obama is the only roadblock these clowns have, and stops them from passing their extremist agenda. The Right has no candidate anyway. Obama is going to win regardless. |

Arista, stick to critiquing your own countries policies. Obama is the best President we've had since Clinton, warts and all. The UK is sinking into the ground. Republicans are why the US is facing so many obstacles, and they're keen on destroying what's left. Bush sure did leave a legacy, a long with Reagan with his deregulation, trickle down crap, and arming the Taliban.
