i couldn't stop laughing at this
basically I was in asda today and 2 black kids, about 4-5ish, were running around screaming, then a shelf stacker (who was also black) turned around and said "hey, would you please keep your niglets under control"
i couldn't believe it, she just ignored him and walked off whilst i stood there pmsl.

I have no problem with black people using ****** to each other. After centuries of oppression attached to that word, it's only correct that it's reclaimed from plantation slave owners.

Racists will always use it regardless, and modern, socially aware people won't use it.

It's not a word that white people can be encouraged to use.

Well it's not rubbish, regardless. I've laid out an opinion and explained why.

Gay people have had to reclaim the word "gay", too. ****** was used by slave owners and tradesmen to degrade and demean. Black civil rights is still a new concept in the western world (historically speaking). Even in the 80's in this country, we had comedians using it all the time, and mainstrem shows using nig-nog and other variations of it.

It's not really up to white people how the word is used or left behind, but I can fully see why it has become such a big part of black street culture. Know your history, Kizzy.
