Default Emmerdale is so much better than Corrie right now

Coronation Street feels like its going around in an endless circle right now, we've got the same characters on rotation (Tommy and Tina, Tracy and Ryan), the show doesnt really feel like its going in any direction. Emmerdale on the other hand is basically using 80% of its cast, and the storylines have so much more depth.

No, Corrie disappoints me, lol, though there is light ahead, since the guy producing Emmerdale right now will be at Corrie in January, lol

I agree, although whether it lasts or not remains to be seen. A lot has happened in line with their 40th anniversary (festivals, weddings, births etc), culminating with Carl's death, and the revelation of Chas's and Cameron's affair, and now we have the aftermath which is sure to keep us entertained for a while.

Corrie still has great comedy though. Mary's nights at Roy's have been great, as have scenes like Dennis getting drunk, and Steve acting like an adolescent. They just need some more interesting ongoing story lines. Tomorrow night's episode should be a good one along with it's ongoing story (Sophie).

I just hope Emmerdale can pull it off for some time to come.

Indeed, the comedy is the only thing that I like about Corrie right now. I too hope Emmerdale continues to be this good, it's the most I've enjoyed it since 2006

This...Emmerdale goes through peaks and troughs...it can go for weeks with very weak storylines and the soap rarely raises a chuckle like Corries does...I agree though the current storyline is cracking!

So many of the cast in Corrie can do comedy so well and also turn in a serious performance when required...

Julie, Brian, Deidre, Ken, Gail, Norris, Mary, Dennis, Rita, Steve all have impeccable comic timing....

I'm hoping Corrie will pick up when Peter and Carla arrive back on the street, because at the moment, the show is basically trundling along.

At least they'd be steering the show in some sort of direction, lol

I agree. Emmerdale has been better than Corrie currently. I am hooked on the aftermath of this Carl storyline. Lucy, Charley, Dominic and co have been great.

I consistently watch EastEnders and been enjoying that, although I am hit and miss where Corrie is concerned lately!

I have been disillusioned with Eastenders lately. It's become my least favourite soap. I enjoy Hollyoaks more than I do Eastenders, as that has had some good story lines recently, and a good few twists and surprises.

When Hollyoaks is good, it is really good. Those annoying teens or character changes, poorly written characters or weak storylines drag the show down at times.

Hollyoaks has a fantastic PR department. I liked how Lynsey's death was a big secret with all these red herrings, some people found out about Rae and Heidi last year although for those who do not go on forums etc it surprised them and HO are not afraid to push the boundaries too, as proved in the Later episodes!

i have wrote a good few poems on this - emmerdale is the top soap and is consistantly top - as of late corri may be dropping behind EE if that is possible ? i don't no what they are doing but this focus on the young cast is a sham. u did say all this a while back - the teens are great to get the young people interested in soaps but us adults need more storylines to keep us interested - its ashame corri is now going the way that crashed EE.
