With all the complaints to OFCOM that last year's series got, could Big Brother survive a night like in BB5 or BB9? I'm obviously not talking about C5's recent claims of a Fight Night in the past where it was just a lot of shouting and storming off. If things got physical, would they be able to get away with it?

It's silly that ofcom deals with big brother anyway it's not BB fault if the housemates have agument like in 2007 when jade and shilpa it's not big brother fault that them. Too don't get along but they should not have put jade in the house anyway
With Connor last year it kind of the same but big brother should of kicked Connor out. If they had a fight this year I would love to see it but it's not the shows fault its the housemates fault. |

I'd love to see another fight night, it'd make the series, it was so entertaining.
But, as you say, Ofcom would be all over it. They become more of a pain in the ass every year, either that or people just love to complain more as the years go by. It makes me wonder what type of people sit and complain over the slightest thing. If someone farts too loudly on BB these days, ofcom have to know about it. |

It's meant to happen every four years (BB5, BB9, BB13) but the public ruined BB13s chances of having one

I made a thread last year asking how many people on here had complained to Ofcom over the last 5 years or so and was shocked how many people said they had. Its pathetic, if the housemates behave badly then let them get on with it and resolve their problems without being hauled into the diary room in fear Ofcom will fine them. If the housemates are left to make up themselves and build bridges after huge falling outs it really is more interesting to watch and with the whole social experiment thing its interesting to see and learn from peoples behaviour. People don't understand that so much good has come out of controvercial moments on BB as it gets the country talking about taboo subjects which they would usually be afraid to talk about. If racism, sexism, homophobia or alleged bullying takes place then getting the viewers and media talking about it can actually have a very positive affect on the issues. Back in 2001 Brian brought being gay to the nation and gained a lot of support from all over the country. Nadia brought transexuality to the public and where as they would usually mock and laugh they accepted her and became more understanding and less ignorant about the issue. Pete with his tourettes changed a lot of peoples minds on the condition and charities received a ton of funding. Anna BB1 was embrace for being a lesbian nun lol The race row brought bullying and race to the public forum with people finally venting their views instead of being afraid to talk about it.... At the same time, the incident with Conor last year showed that when the producers are faced with a situation where more hands on methods are needed, they run a mile and try to manipulate things to try and shy away from the issue. I think the public reaction is just one of those interesting things about Big Brother. I can't see things like that improving in the future, if anything it'll get worse. That's just society I guess.

I just cant believe BB13 only averaged about 1.7 million viewers and was still the most complained about show of 2012.
Its the fans who complain and they only have themselves to blame when Channel 5 finally get sick of having Ofcom threats and cancel the show for good. |

I think having a massive argument would help the series, as long it was in a Bad Girls Club kind of way. If it ended up being connected to racism/sexism/homophobia, it'd go horribly wrong, but if it avoided that, it'd get some attention to what's otherwise a pretty dead show.
