I made a thread last year asking how many people on here had complained to Ofcom over the last 5 years or so and was shocked how many people said they had. Its pathetic, if the housemates behave badly then let them get on with it and resolve their problems without being hauled into the diary room in fear Ofcom will fine them. If the housemates are left to make up themselves and build bridges after huge falling outs it really is more interesting to watch and with the whole social experiment thing its interesting to see and learn from peoples behaviour. People don't understand that so much good has come out of controvercial moments on BB as it gets the country talking about taboo subjects which they would usually be afraid to talk about. If racism, sexism, homophobia or alleged bullying takes place then getting the viewers and media talking about it can actually have a very positive affect on the issues. Back in 2001 Brian brought being gay to the nation and gained a lot of support from all over the country. Nadia brought transexuality to the public and where as they would usually mock and laugh they accepted her and became more understanding and less ignorant about the issue. Pete with his tourettes changed a lot of peoples minds on the condition and charities received a ton of funding. Anna BB1 was embrace for being a lesbian nun lol The race row brought bullying and race to the public forum with people finally venting their views instead of being afraid to talk about it.... At the same time, the incident with Conor last year showed that when the producers are faced with a situation where more hands on methods are needed, they run a mile and try to manipulate things to try and shy away from the issue. I think the public reaction is just one of those interesting things about Big Brother. I can't see things like that improving in the future, if anything it'll get worse. That's just society I guess.
