Default If you could form your own political party?

What would you call it?
What would your platform be?
What would you support?

The common sense party.

Getting the young into work and bringing the pension age down by allowing a voluntary smaller pension from 60-65 .

Getting out of the system what you have put in, with the exception of the vulnerable and needy.
Getting rid of some of the PC garbage.

The rational renational party.

We would put everything back in the hands of central and local government, and stop greedy shareholders of companies squeezing profits from business by cutting corners and exploiting their workforce.
Invest heavily in green energy, ban fracking and invest in nuclear fusion not fission.
Believe that children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way....

..I like the sound of an Arista Party, it has a nice ring to it...although that's probably not the reason to vote for someone...

The 'NOW' Party.

My platform would be to set out to bring in all the members of any parties who are of a consensus thinking as to running the country.
They exist in all parties and their voices get lost in the party machines that they have to work so hard to keep intact.
I would want no more of that and in effect would like to see it as a really grand coalition that would work for everyone, taking account of all citizens no matter their status.

I would want all energy and essential services such as water to be the responsibility of the State, run to cover its overheads and future investment but not for the vast profits they are now.
I would want full and secure protection for those who are the most vulnerable in the UK and put an end to this divide and conquer attitude of setting citizen against citizen as to their status.
I would encourage success in both the public and private sectors with rewards for same too and recognition, striving to have them working hand in hand as many of them have done and still do,thereby removing this further setting out of dividing opinion as to those sectors.
My main support would go to the NHS and I would strive to see that nurtured and always protected, built up not brought down

The country has had enough of, I feel, of politicians being artificially against each other and not encouraging the citizens to work not only for the good of themselves but for others too.
That example if it were to come from the top, as in a Govt, could revolutionise the UK to heights we could only dream of.

Sadly likely for my lifetime, that is all the above could ever be,a dream or a fantasy, especially while the party machines are supported and allowed to go rumbling on,crushing most of society and its structure while supporting a minority of others.

I've always wanted to write a full proper manifesto, but i'm too lazy right now. Someday I'll write a full one and post it here for you guys.

I think the best way to describe my political opinions are a combination of libertarianism and social democracy.

..yeah, that is very well thought out, Joey..(as always..)..but if you're not going to bring in free milkshake for grown ups, then I'll have to consider voting elsewhere...it's ok having good dreams and aspirations but if you can't get the basics right, then we're heading for a broken Britain...

Not wanting to jump any gun here Ben,not even sure if I will decide to try to create a party or decide again to support another person and their party as I did with Jack,(who in my view was brilliant in his work as to everything), last year.
However can I ask for a consideration as to it being more of the first tibb election format than last years.
Last years with the individual threads for the parties left little room for real debate, the original format where the election was held on an ongoing thread with all parties canvassing and dealing with questions on that one thread was,in my opinion, more successful and entertaining too.

Last year, it had to be that members actually had to look on the individual parties threads and if they didn't then that put some at a disadvantage.
For me anyway, I preferred the first election process, where everyone canvassed for votes and members could see everything from all parties and their supporters on that one ongoing thread, raising any points they wished to on that thread too.

Just my thoughts but I found last year as a supporter hard going a little, as some parties threads had great activity while others got very little in reality.
I found it very hard to do Jack the full justice his work warranted, which wouldn't,in my view, have been the case under the first tibb election format.

One long thread as a sort of newsreel as to all the parties during the whole election process is for me the best and fairest way to do it.
It is always great fun but I feel last years format left some elements almost excluded overall.

Anyway thanks for your time in reading this Ben, good luck with it as always.

Not a problem at all Ammi, free banana milkshakes would be the tiniest of my worries if I had a party in Govt and one of the easisest to grant too I would think.

It's a lot more than a popularity Contest, it's an event that was designed to bring Tibb together and create a positive vibe, obviously there will be an element of popularity as there is in the majority of Tibb games and events, and that only reflects the true nature of politics anyway, people are popular for a reason and candidates with the likeability factor coupled with a good campaign that catches forum interest will prosper in this election 'battle'. It's been great fun and very entertaining both times it's run so far, and it's captured imaginations and got people involved during off season. The efforts put in have been something special. As the original creator (and proud ) I'm quite chuffed it's become an annual event. Similar to the pub quiz, there's no limit to how many members can take part either, and with this specifically there are lots of levels of involvement available.

Ooh it's like a sales pitch

Thnak you for starting that too Kate, it was great event for all interested.

That also had the format I myself preferred, with the crossfire of questioning and commenting from everyone, to everyone, on the same thread.
It felt like a real election.

It is a really good idea and I am glad it is an annual thing too.
