Default ISIS's days are going to come to an end very soon.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/chinese-special-forces-use-flamethrower-6886860#rlabs=9%20rt$sitewide%20p$3

I know this is just one story, but it made me think.. with the EU, US, Russia, and China ALL fighting ISIS.. they honestly don't have a hope in hell of winning any perceived war that is being fought. But how long do you think it will take?

The stupidest thing they could have ever done was piss off Russia and China, the West holds themselves back more when it comes to war, Russia and China? Not a chance, you mess with them, they will end you.

Yes they probably will, we could aid all the innocents we can if we want to help.

It is good that there is a joint effort to destroy ISIS.Although my worry is what happens when the west and Russia step on each others toes.Russia are targetting many other people other than ISIS at the moment. They are killing many civilians and the Free Syrian Army and anyone else who opposes Assad. When ISIS are gone and the west decide it's time for Assad to go then that is when bigger problems will occur.

but what will replace them is the question. Al Qaeda isn't getting much attention lately, but can we celebrate the retreat of Al Qaeda with ISIS around? and what will come after ISIS?

The sooner they are gone the better for all the World so I would hope it is very soon.

I still say we need the Arab Nations in the Middle east to, and all the other Nations too there, to ensure these people are wiped off the face of the earth.

Then, and more to the point, be in a position to deal with and eradicate any other nutters and despots who form groups to terrorise and destroy, rather than contribute something of value and worth to the World.

Exactly Alex, huge armies going around creating a very specific type of power vacuum... something else will have filled it within 6 months.

And that's if ISIS truly is defeated. To me, this whole thing absolutely smacks of Chinese Army propaganda. I think they're taking PR tips from Mr Il in NK.

Difference between ISIS and Al Qaeda is that Al Qaeda never had that much interest in controlling territory and they never made any claim to have established the Caliphate like ISIS have. If that caliphate fails then that is a massive blow to Islamic extremism although the campaign against IS is probably one that will go on for years.

Unfortunately I believe you're right.
The ten year war in Afghanistan is why Russia fell apart. What started as a complete crack down ended with a withdrawal from Afghanistan and the return of 15,000 Red Army soldiers in coffins. Why would it be any different now?

Its been proven before in both Afghanistan and Iraq that air strikes kill thousands of innocents, not just through direct hits but the aftermath of a destroyed infrastructure, but are nothing more than a fart in the wind to people like ISIS.

Our massive air assaults will merely push more Syrian refugees over the borders and the dessert will become a stronger and more formidable force. It needs Massive western boots on the ground if its going to have any chance of succeeding but with the Gulf Arab backers pouring their fortunes into military aid nobody can predict the future of Syria and other middle eastern countries.

I find it baffling that so little is being said about the Saudi's because from where I'm sitting, they are have a massive hand in this.

There will always be terrorists and extremists unfortunately so if IsIs were to be wiped out, it scares me to think what will replace them....

why does it seem like the oldest cultures are the least evolved? It's like they get stuck.

people started in Africa, africa is a ****ing nightmare, then moved up into the middle east, then into south asia and southern and eastern europe, then into eastern asia and western europe, then to America, Canada, and Australia....

it's like when you look at that time line you can see the worst places start at the beginning and the best places are the furthest away from the beginning.

Did anyone else watch that documentary last night on how ISIS recruit people in the UK?
One very brave Muslim woman infiltrated a woman's group and got caught.

Yes I saw it she was very brave, I only caught the last 20 mins though.
I do question the motives of showing this now however, if the onus is on showing the Muslim community that they are not all viewed with suspicion then this sort of countered that.

I would like to know what happened to that very important information before it was shown to the viewing public. Was M15 interested and if not why not? were these people arrested? From the sound of things they weren't.

Presumably everything got passed to the authorities. I think they said that they couldn't name one of the women for legal reasons so perhaps she is now under investigation? It was very brave of her and its very concerning that such groups exist
