Default The Rock will not Vote for Joe Biden, this time

[The wrestler turned action star
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson dealt
a blow to Joe Biden,
saying he would not repeat his endorsement
of the president in his looming
rematch with Donald Trump.

Johnson endorsed Biden in his
first contest with Trump four years ago,
saluting the former vice-president and
senator for his “compassion, heart, drive and soul”.

But in an interview with Fox News
on Friday, Johnson said:
“Am I going to do that again this year?
That answer’s no. I realise now going
into this election, I will not do that.”
Long the subject of rumours about his
own political ambitions,
Johnson reportedly fielded an approach
from No Labels, the centrist
group that now says it will not run
a candidate against Biden and Trump.

Johnson has not disavowed talk
of running for office. In 2021, after a poll
showed public support, he said:
“I don’t think our Founding Fathers EVER
envisioned a six-four, bald, tattooed,
half-Black, half-Samoan, tequila drinking,
pick-up truck driving, fanny pack-wearing
guy joining their club – but if it ever happens
it’d be my honour to serve you, the people.”]

I like Dwayne Johnson.

But! He shouldn't be the American President, Trump and Reagan should already be proof enough that Celebrities don't make for good Politicians.

And tbh I can't blame him about Biden, it's just for me I think that Trump is even worse, so I'm hoping that Americans see it similar to me in that sense.

To be fair though, I think Old Arnie was generally considered to have done a good job as governor of California?

You'd find plenty of people who would say that Reagan and Trump were good Presidents

People would say it about Zelensky too

I saw the interview and what he actually said was he wouldn't endorse Biden this time. There are good reasons for that given he is heavily involved in pro wrestling. It's not smart business to piss off half your audience.

He didn't say anything about not voting for Biden, nor did he say he was now supporting Trump.

Having lived through the Reagan administration, he and Maggie Thatcher were responsible for changing the entirety of eastern europe, reforming russia, bringing down the berlin wall, removing the threat of nuclear war and ending the cold war. If that is not a success, i don't know what is

I do get that tbf.

But I don't believe that it's going to be a common result what Arnie pulled off.
