![]() Very articulate well thought out response. Never mind now you dont need to get woken up by the alarm so you can watch your mates on Jeremy Kyle. Last edited by Benjamin; 19-10-2010 at 12:55 PM. Reason: removing insult from quote |

Jeremy Kyle was great today. They had an alcoholic who spent his benefits on 50 cans of lager per day. Riveting stuff.

You may do,but some people are going to bed at that time, some people work shifts,I see no reason why anyone needs to be at anyones door before 9.pm.

Remembering Kerry

British Gas are notoriously inconsiderate, True people do work at 8.50 am but that is not so with everyone, people who work nightshifts for example just getting in at 8am and going to bed, then getting this bang at the door at around 9am. would be massively annoying.
Its very easy these days to ring people and say the readers will be in the area on such and such a day so you could arrange to be thereIf a British Gas customer you usually give a number to reach you on when you sign up) but to just call at 8.50 am is a bit off. If you had young children for example, you could be seeing them to school at that time too. |

I just ignore it, I know my mates will phone me before they knock at my house, and they all know I'd be asleep in the morning anyway unless it was a work day. Same with the house phone, I know if isn't anyone for me so that gets left. A few seconds later the phone has stopped ringing or the people have walked away from the door, and I can get back to a nice peaceful sleep

I do agree that they shouldn't be there before 9AM. I myself work some late shifts, and some people work nights. There is no need to be there that early.

It's a weekday not a sunday morning, 9 o clock isnt that early. They cant just wait to start their job until midday on the off chance that the person at home might be working a night shift or something like that, and even if they did they would be asleep most of the day so when would be a good time to come round?

No, but not everyone works 9 to 5. If they want to arrive before 9AM then they should inform the person prior to the visit so they know they need to be up. The companies know they will be going to that house before hand, it's not like they spontaneously decide that morning to go to that house ![]()
