Ok, last time I seriously paid attention they were performing on X factor, being denied drinks on Alan Carr then I blink and next thing I know North American and American people are going crazy for them, they're gonna have a nickelodeon show and they have a number one album?!


what dee hell kinda water have they been drinking over there? didn't they release just one single?

I am kind of happy for them, and good luck to them but oh my god, what happened seriously I need to take a time out and read back from alan carr to this

Most of the teenage girls on Twitter/Facebook etc, barely even talk about their music, it's about them and how 'good looking' they are, they however are only conventionally attractive lads, they aren't anything special, I mean fair-play to them X Factor have made them stars.

Its always the same with goodlooking bands/singers though. People who dont like them are like 'oh you only like them for how they look' when clearly thats not the only reason that all these people are popular. It annoys me a bit actually.

Its a bit like me saying Rihanna is only popular because shes beautiful and no-one actually likes her music. I could back this up with the fact that a lot of guys go on about how hot she is. Sorted.

Image is a big part of the music industry though, you don't have to be good looking to succeed but it does help

I liked them based on this performance and before that because i liked them cause they were cheeky. it's only now that i'm thinking ooh harry za za zoom. he cleans up well

That's true for any boyband. Boybands have to be good looking to be boybands. Doesn't mean people just like them for being pretty.

I'm happy for them. They're the best boy band of their kind on the mainstream market right now if you ask me, The Wanted and JLS pale into significance in comparison.

I don't like how they're being made out to be the next Beatles because they are the first British act to make No. 1 in America with a debut album.
Yes, it's No. 1 for now but something tells me they won't have any actual longevity and leave any kind of lasting impression in history let alone reach Adele's recent success nevermind the Beatles.

Don't get me wrong, good luck to them. As much as I can't stand them I'd also milk the cow for all I could get out of it but they're just a manufactured act. All the hard work is done for them by their "team" and then they just have to appear on TV and wink at the tween girls. Probably the fact they're foreign (to America) helps too.

But comparing them to the Beatles? Come on, how idiotic do people have to be.
