Watching the clip on bbuk twitter of Cameron getting his hair done and the row between Sian Lewis and Brooke that followed made me realise a lot about why Cameron is the way he is around Lewis, and only around Lewis.

He felt really good about himself when they did his hair and it was all smiles from all 3, which is something you rarely see with Cameron in the house. He was clearly having a good time and found new confidence, but it completely changed when Lewis became part of the equation. Saying his hair looked horrible and insulting Sian and Brooke and getting defensive and killing the mood, you can literally watch his face drop. It’s so clear to me now that camerons behaviour is only a product of Lewis and his misery/ manipulation. He has fun with everyone else and instantly becomes more paranoid and disheartened around him, but yet is loyal to him anyway. Maybe it’s because he trusts him after cam came out, or he’s actually attracted to him. But Lewis is clearly a bad influence and really drags his spirit down. I don’t really mind Cameron now but I think Lewis is certainly headed towards being one of my least favourite of all time

I do still dislike Cameron because his individual behaviour has still been bad regardless of influence but I still agree with the OP. The easiest summation of this is if anyone were to rewatch the first week. Before Lewis, Cameron's best friend in the house was Tomasz and his attitude was much more uplifting and carefree at that point. He didn't properly get close to Lewis till the second week and when G left, he clung to F to the point of relying on him. I really hope the public see this and separate them asap

yeah to be fair thinking about it I liked Cameron up until the point he became best friends with Lewis, I think he could have won it if Lewis went on friday assuming he’s be more like week one and two when he had massive support and Lewis fans would presumably vote for him

It’s not really my point tho. It’s more just, to me at least, lewis lacks self awareness and is blinded by his own paranoia, and this isn’t matched very well with a vulnerable 18 yr old still learning about the world. It almost seems like Lewis is taking advantage of Cameron as a pawn for his games after Cameron let him in when it came to his sexuality. I’m not sure if Lewis is even consciously doing it at this point, but it seems clear to me the influence Lewis has on him.

He was miserable and moaning from day one, long before Lewis. He befriended Tomasz and then went to the group telling them Tomasz would throw any one of them under a bus. Then went back to Tomasz and acted as if they were best friends.

I really don’t like Cameron at all (my least fave!) but I will say in his defence that he’s got a bloke a lot older than him (is it by like 9 years or something?) who is good looking and straight and who you wouldn’t see typically with a boy like him in Lewis F as his friend. He’s going to look up to him and look to him for reassurance, plus, dramatic as it may sound, Lewis F has had a massive impact on Cameron’s entire life by supporting him during one of the most difficult things he’ll face in coming out. So yeah, I do think Cameron’s behaviour in there is controlled by his infatuation with Lewis F (I’m not even saying Cameron fancies him or whatever I’m just saying he will have an admiration for him due to how important he has swiftly become to him as a person).
