Stacey Soloman – Son Of A Preacher Man by Dusty Springfield from the film Pulp Fiction

Olly Murs – Twist and Shout written by Phil Medley and Bert Russell from the film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Jamie Archer – Unchained Melody by Alex North from the film Unchained

Joe McElderry – Circle Of Life by Elton John and Tim Rice from the film The Lion King

Lucie Jones – This Is Me from the movie Camp Rock

Lloyd Daniels – Footloose from the movie Footloose

Simon needs to steer olly away from being leon-esque

yes he ll perform these songs well, but they wont sell records with these types of songs

interesting choice for Jamie, would have thought he'd stick to a rock type song. I can't imagine it going too well.

I like Ollys choice and I think Danyl will do well with Purple Rain(it worked for Ruth last year!)

I think he probably thought, it turned Ruths chances around last year, lets see if it works for Danyl! I think he'll do well with it though!

He's always been giving him songs that other people have already performed so well. When he sang I'm Not Goin' and Feeling Good all I could think of was Rachel Hylton's versions. I think the same will apply to Purple Rain for me.

He's trying to encourage us into thinking that Danyl has this amazing voice that can rival all the big guns that have been on the show before. He plainly doesn't have the vocals necessary for the job. Every performance has been ropey for Danyl cuz Simon is asking too much of him with these huge songs.

Yeah, I hated that song he did for diva week, I still think he'll do Purple Rain well though, I think it'll really suit his voice

nobody ever will beat ruths version of purple rain heck i liked it even better than princes version. so will danyl do it well he will just scream like he normally does with his stupid mouth open 4 hours. dissapointed with joes song and i love joe hes my winner but i think this will be a bit boring. jamie will do that fab as he did with the christina agulera one. twins will be great as usual. olly hmmm crap i think. stacey shud b good she may even dance to this one

Possibly, but by giving him the song Simon has automatically made us compare Danyl to Ruth. He's not in her league but Simon wants us to believe he has that kind of strength. There's so many other songs he could have chosen.... he's trying to force Danyl down our throats.

I wouldn't say Danyl isn't in Ruths league, I mean tbh, that was the only song I thought she sang amazingly. Danyl has a completely different type of voice to Ruth but I think he's just as good

But you know what I mean right? He just wants us to believe that Danyl has this incredibly powerful voice, which he doesn't. It's a mistake to be giving him all these songs that other performers have owned on the show. Give him a fresh song - there's so many others from movies he could have chosen.

I do think Simon should spend a bit more time learning what songs will make the most of each of his acts voices absolutely.

No, I mean Purple Rain is a song that's definitely suited to him but it's just it's association with Ruth that I don't like, although Simon is probably counting on that fact to sway the audience into believing in the "greatness" of Danyl. I can already hear the spiel he's going to come out with after the performance.

Yeah, Simon in particular is annoying me this year. I mean it's fine for him to not judge Rachel on her performance last week because she's not popular but it's a whole other story then for Danyl who clearly is very unpopular as well!

Well, I wouldn't say that, after all the bad press he's been getting, I think he's unpopular with alot of age groups who believe it. I mean his best week he was in the bottom 2
