Mass Effect

Never has a Sci-fi RPG been good enough to earn a place between the two Sci-fi giants; Star Trek and Star Wars, but somehow Mass Effect has done it. Mass Effect takes place in the not too far future, after a old ruin was discovered on Mars. The ruin gave Earth the key to being able to travel the Milky Way, now, with Earth and the Council of the galaxy (Citadel Council) at peace, Earth are trying to find a place in a galaxy full of thousands of other races. With voices from stars such as Star Trek: The Next Generation star, Marina Sirtis, the bloke who did Johnson's voice in Halo and Buffy the Vampire Slayer's, Seth Green, and with thousands of different paths to take in the game, the game is sure to keep you entertained for weeks, a true gaming epic.

4.5/5

Tekken 6 (Xbox 360 & PS3)

Tekken 6 is the first proper iteration of the fighting series on current generation consoles and it doesn't disappoint. All the characters from the previous game returns (As well as the two new characters and Armor King from the PSP version of Tekken 5) alongside 6 new characters, It's the biggest roster of characters yet. The new characters fit in extremely well with the old cast and there aren't really any bad ones, the old characters have been given new moves and improvements which change how you play some characters significantly. With such a large ammount of characters balance between the characters is an expected issue but it's not really a problem here.

There's a few new features to the fighting system as well, when you are a touch away from death your character enters 'Rage Mode' which doubles your attack power. It's a nice little feature that can lead to some pretty exciting finishes if you manage to stage a good comeback but ussually it comes into play too late to affect anything. The second new feature is the 'bound' feature which allows you to bounce your opponent off the floor with certain moves to enable you to extend combos, It's a great feature that allows for some impressive combos. the final new gameplay feature is 'Item Moves'. you can buy clothes and accessories for your character to wear and some of them will have their own moves in fights, for example one character can do a short combo with a pair of nunchucks if they have the item equipped. It sounds powerful but the Item moves tend to be more flashy then useful and rarely come into play but it's still a fun feature.

Most modes from the old games are back but there is a new mode called 'Scenairio Campagin' which serves as a large part of the game. SC is a surprisingly cinematic story mode which follows two of the new characters, the gameplay is very remiscent of the 'Tekken Force' modes of the other games but the story, cutscenes and production values make it quite fun to work through. The gameplay in this mode isn't brilliantly realised but it still becomes quite addictive as you'll get stacks of money and items for customising characters here. Unlike most tekken games the full roster is available from the beggning in most modes but you do have to unlock characters for use in SC and arena mode (A more traditional Story Mode for the other characters).

The online modes are a bit patchy but as long as you play with people in the same country as you, it's quite playable.

I've got very little to complain about Tekken 6 apart from sometimes erratic online and one other issue, The Boss character. The Boss is the worst thing about the game, he's stupidly powerful and has an array of cheap moves. the only way to beat him is to play cheap yourself which defies the point of the game, Fighting him is tedious as you'll end up relying on one or two moves to beat him with.

Apart from that though Tekken 6 is a brilliant game if a little shaky in areas, If you like fighting games I'd thoroughly reccomend it.

9/10.

Agree with BBEye, I only played abit of L4D2 and its not that good or diffrent to the first one.

They need to add Missions and a Storyline to it, thats what annoyes me about this game.

They just through a bunch of Zombies in, through guns across the country with random Safe Houses and then say 'Go kill all sons of bitches'

And thats that, How did they all turn into Zombies?
What happened to Louis,Zoe,Francis and Bill?

So many things they could do with this game but their too lazy and basically just add random levels with Zombies running up to you and you find yourself walking about 10 minutes in the dark without Zombies.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 : 8/10
Biggest problem is its length, i havent played online yet.. so once i do probs will be better.

Fifa 10 : 7.5 /10 Alone, 9.5/10 Group

Its more fun playing online with friends like me and 3 friends vs someone online, or playing 2 on 2..

I dunno, the new crescendos and special infected made everything a lot more challenging in the sequel. A lot remained the same but I don't think I'd have enjoyed it as much.

It's not meant to have a story though, very few zombie films and such reveal where the infection came from and L4D emulates that. Oh and the original survivors are coming back in the new DLC.

I think overcomplicating L4D will be it's undoing, it's ridiculously fun as it is.
