Okay, controversial topic...but an interesting one, nonetheless.

I'm starting to believe everybody has a preference as to which gender they prefer, but, as everybody can find anybody physically attractive, there is still the potential there for you to fall in love with them, rendering orientation non-existant. This might make things difficult when it comes to a sexual relationship, of course, but the potential is still there. What do you think?

Is sexuality just a way of dividing and seperating people, and giving people opportunities to discriminate others, or not?

It's part of being comfortable with your sexuality. Look, I'm a rugbyman so I've seen naked guys on a weekly basis for about 10 years now but it doesn't bother me. I'm not going to say "right this guys is hot to the bone" but I can say at least a guy isn't ugly.

Sexual orientation shouldn't exist. Sexuality is just one way of defining you are and what you prefer. We all have our preferences. There's no reason why we should all belong in different groups.

It's just for ease of communication. Some people only like women. Some people only like men. Some people like both. These are facts. Isn't that what sexuality is?

But there are also so many grey areas too. Sexual orientation, I suppose, just makes it easier for us to understand eachother. I think deep down, if we removed the labels, there would be less abuse and stereotypes.

I agree, but it's a social identification thing I suppose. We all end up cast into groups somehow.

But on a sociological aspect, having preferences lands to forming groups between people. It's just natural for people who like the same thing to gather together. So who says "preferences" cannot escape the notion of "groups".

But because of this, we have grouped against other groups, and that's why we have people with certain orientations feeling oppressed.
