I've seen so many arguments start here and bitter feuds just because people don't have the same view as yourself. I'm all for debate but it often turns nasty
In light of recent student protests etc - Do you debate? Do you protest? Do you listen to others? Or just stick by your views and be damned if anyone should say otherwise? Also are you willing to see the other side and admit if you're wrong? Last edited by Kerry; 19-12-2010 at 05:05 AM. |

I don't protest and think the student protests turning violent is stupid.
I listen to others, just the other day a guy came into work saying that what the students was doing is great and the violence will help and Wikileaks crashing Visa and attempting Amazon makes a stand and gets noticed. While i agree the student protests turning violent is what got them lots of press, its not good and as for Wikileaks crashing visa and amazon i stand by my view that it is pointless, most people i know just think idiots, not ooh we support them. As far as im concerned these type of people are people that didnt go through their rebellion year as a teenager. |

I stick by my own views/opinions because they are always right.

I like to think I listen, but at the same time I have my views and will stick to them. I won't say my views can never be changed, as they do change as a grow older. I may not agree with others opinions but everyone has their own perspective on things but it doesn't bother me...
...most of the time. Sometimes I cannot help but have a sly dig.

I don't mind when debates get a bit heated.... part of the passion sometimes for the subject matter and in the majority of times, I might not agree, but ultimately, I accept someone else has a different view and that's to be respected.
It's when it borders on 'insane' or obsessive to the point it's unhealthy, or just plain rude for the hell of it and being a pain in the arse - without any good reason - that's when I will dismiss. Some things are simply better ignored and treated with the contempt they deserve. |
