'Big Brother' Channel 5 deal 'weeks away'

Talks to bring Big Brother to Channel 5 are at "an advanced stage", industry insiders have claimed.

Broadcast reports that negotiations between the reality show's production company Endemol and Richard Desmond, the owner of Channel 5, have re-opened in recent months and a final deal could be just a few weeks away.

The publication claims that the agreement could tie Big Brother to the broadcaster for as long as five years, though this could be reduced if performance targets are missed.

Desmond is also believed to be interested in relaunching Celebrity Big Brother and extending the main programme's run past the traditional 13-week mark.

Desmond had identified Big Brother as an ideal format for the rebranded Channel 5 following his Ł103.5 million takeover in July 2010. However, talks broke down in September, allegedly over Desmond's determination to pay less than the estimated Ł70 million price tag attached to Channel 4's three-year contract for the programme in 2006.

Big Brother concluded its 11th and final series on Channel 4 on August 24, 2010. The show's 'last' episode, which saw series two champion Brian Dowling win an Ultimate competition, aired 17 days later and ended with the message "Big Brother will get back to you."

Anyway what age do you have to be to audition to Big Brother these days? Was it 16 or 18?

They said they COULD have it for up to 5 Years!

That's like 2016 ['cus I doubt it'll start this year]!

So if you have to be 16 to audition for Big Brother, You'll be able to watch me on Big Brother 13 [because I don't turn 16 until next year in August so I'll of missed the launch]

And if it has to be 18, you'll all see be on like Big Brother 15


But as Shaun said, Channel 5 are faily.
It could, infact it probably will flop, UNLESS they COMPLETELY like COMPLETELY revamp this bitch.

I reckon if it is brought back it may do good for the first series because people may of realised what a tragic loss it was to their lives to have Big Brother snatched away from them, and they'll appreciate it more.

im confused though if they are weeks away from securing a dead when will we actually get BB12?

imo 1 year break is enough coz after BB8 we had a one year break (well BBCH but that **** doesnt count) and BB9 was totally amazing

I'm happy for it to stay dead...it ended for me with UBB with the best possible outcome....it was too tired and worn out for me to keep wathing after this year...
