I've heard about this asteroid before. And I doubt the Earth will turn into a ball of fire shortly after it hits us.

You are probably right. All sorts of rumours that the government started foot and mouth disease and that it was George Bush's plan for the 9/11 to happen. Well maybe not "plan" but he went along with it.

I don't think the world will end. I do think an asteroid will hit planet Earth though and end up killing hundreds of thousands of people.

*Hopes it doesn't hit anywhere near the UK*

Well if it does hit, you're fucked if you're near it or you're not. It will cause loads of soot to go up in the air and plunge us all into a deep freeze where growing crops is virtually impossible meaning we'd all starve.

I'm not too sure whether I'd like to survive and witness the breakdown of civilisation or to die instantly and be spared that horror.

I am sure an asteroid or something similar hit planet Earth not long ago? And didn't kill off the planet!!! It depends how big the asteroid is. I predict the world will not end in 2012 or 2036..... However if I am wrong then I'm wrong.

At least we will all be on the same boat!

This.

I just re-read it, the article doesn't exactly seem like it's telling us straight up the world will end.

They said 'It will probably disintegrate'.

The only worrying thing about that is that they mentioned it's the biggest threat to our planet.
