Can you put your dead dog in the wheeley bin ?

So i went to my mates house this morning and her dog has been ill for ages. i asked how it is and she replyed "aw aye it died this morning... we put it in the green bin in a black bag" At first i LoLd but is thr not any laws against this ? i feel so sorry for wee max
