I just would liked to point out that this is not the usual summer Big Brother. Its the celebrity version.
It has and always will be OK magazine like "celebrity" gossip trash. I would also like to point out to people moaning about the rubbish Z listers that BB is a show that creates Z listers! If you don't like this kinda stuff, like myself, wait for the main show. I am a fan of the Main Show because I like to get to know people, be entertained and have a psycological human experiment. That is not what CBB was ever about! People assumed that because it moved channels that c5 would snap their fingers and pay millions for A listers. The format changes are as of now in beta form. But at least wait for the main show before writting it off. Thanks |

I do agree with you in principle.
A few months ago an 'insider' (but not really anymore) but an insider told me they were working on a kind of concept where BB would start off deliberately outrageous, OTT campy and then 'switch' to something more serious and 'back to basics' retooled by 5. Now, looking back, it seems this was describing (what eventually happened) starting off with an outrageous campy Celebrity Big Brother and then rolling into a regular season. So yes, I agree that the CBB is allowed to be silly, camp, commercial, etc etc. But... ..sorry to say I have a terrible feeling this just carries on into regular season. ![]() |

LOL You're all just being wishful thinkers, if you think they're gonna change it all for Big Brother.
They aren't going to just go from Campy graphics, Camp house, Camp presenter and stuff and change it all in the space of a day for real BB. Nor will the editing change. It's not a bad thing though.

If anything I suspect they will turn up the camp and glamour and sparkly dancing for the regular season.
Maybe Brian can squeal 'Oh nooo you DID-ENT' even louder and more often. Turning it into a hilarious catchphrase. They could explode some confetti and shoot crazy graphics across the screen every time he says it? |

I think what the thread starter is trying to say is that the show (because of the celebrities) is obviously going to be more tabloidesque (did I just make a new word?) than the traditional BB series... That being said, I do think that the actual BB program will be more traditional in terms of overall interaction with BB and with the tasks, etc. Of course the on screen markers will remain, and the campiness of Brian's schtick will be on full display, but that's his whole gimmick (the reason people liked him to begin with) so of course that's going to be of prominent stature in the Brian led series.
I don't think the CBB series has been nearly as dreadful as some of the other viewers have felt it's been and I've actually enjoyed it thus far, even without the live feed, but I do think there will be a definite separation of CBB and normal BB. When the majority of the CBB housemates are tabloid stars then obviously the show is going to take on a more tabloidesque feel... I hope that my feelings are right, but until the show actually kicks off we're all just playing the "wait and see" game. Cheers. |

Exactly my point. I mean was CBB7 better? Yes! Why? The cast! What is ruining this series for people is the cast. The editing is just jarring because its different. That doesn't mean that this is suddenly going to turn in BBUSA and we will get "tension" or dramatic music behind everything.
As far as the overall presentation it feels just like the old show except admitantly with more "personality" from Marcus. My thoughts on that is that he and Brian are both kinda filling in for Davina. Marcus is taking the commenting role, where Brian who is new to the show is simply playing host. Another thing I want to mention guys is that from tonight the shows won't be live. The live audience last night was pointless, I will agree on that point. Poor sods. But I gurantee from tonight we will see more and get less narrative commenting. So let's see tonight huh? |

Is it just me or is Marcus doing a sort of campy... almost like Brian... a campy kind of 'weeee' voice now?
I dont know if he was just trying to have one-off fun with that or did they compel him to start 'gaying it up' or what? because I can tell you the one thing almost 'holy' to me is Marcus amazing voice, pace, steady unbiased delivery. I do not need one of my last unsoiled memories of BB besmirched after they tell him to 'get excited' and 'really sell it' and 'glee it up'. UGH |
