Hey guys, so I have my FIRST ever job interview tomorrow. I feel like I've finally reached a milestone in my life.

I was just wondering of anybody had any techniques or advice in regards to calming nerves? It's something that I think I may struggle with, but the again it may because I'm over thinking things.

..awww it is daunting Braden but try to stay calm if you can..(I know that's hard..) but I think that not thinking ahead to the actual interview when you're getting ready helps and just trying to focus your thoughts on each step of getting dressed etc and your route there ..just steps sort of thing and avoid focus on the interview itself until you actually get there..your interviewers may be just as nervous as you..?..it's quite a scary thing to actually interview as well and they know it's your first time so they will make allowances for that and try to make you feel comfortable and relaxed...


...just researching the company beforehand and stuff is a good thing and always impresses...and practising what you want to say/anticipating obvious questions is a good thing...big deep breaths and trying to talk clearly/slowly and having some questions prepared...you'll be fine when you get there Braden, I'm sure and the best of luck.....

..yeah my OH was interviewed by his dad once, that wouldn't have worked at all Cherie...

..EDIT:..oh my son was also interviewed by my OH so this could all get quite dodgy....

The best thing to do is think, chances are that someone will be better than me, but I will try my damn hardest to get the job!

Just try and be as confident as possible. It's your first job interview, I'm sure there will be many more to come! If you don't manage to get this job, remember the experience that you've had in an actual interview.

Yeah as ammi said make sure you research the company well. Make sure you understand what they do and know what kind of indutry/customers they serve.

Depending on the role they may ask competency based questions like "how would you deal with a difficult customer" or "give an example of a time you have achieved something you really wanted"

Good luck...relax as much as possible and make sure you listen to the questions they ask

I always get nervous for interviews, it's just natural though. My mum always tells me to remember that the person interviewing you is just human and has experienced similar things in their life.

Just take deep breaths and relax.
