Default Wales manager Gary Speed confirmed dead
Wales football manager Gary Speed died.

His death was confirmed in a statement by the Football Association of Wales.

The statement said: "We extend our sympathies and condolences to the family. We ask that everyone respects the family's privacy at this very sad time."

Speed took over the Wales job in February, and earlier this month, said the side's rapid improvement had exceeded all expectations.

It is probably the most unexpected and shocking death i have heard.. up there with MJ and Winehouse anyway

They were having a minutes silence in the Villa Swansea game but it spontaneously turned into applause with people chanting his name which was a good gesture, it's crazy that only yesterday he was on Football Focus laughing and joking around

Seen him in Boots a few years ago he always seemed really happy as well and the other day he was talking about the 2014 World cup Qualifiers about a week ago.. very weird
