I've been saying gif since i can remember and just because the creator called it and pronounces it jif doesn't mean i'm going to start calling it jif. He should of been clear on the way it was pronounced the second he invented it

It's pronounced Meem, I think. The word was created by Richard Dawkins, who created when he recognised that parts of sub culture works like genes for spreading and passing on information.
