Gary in the call cenbtre task told us how much he loves the others and wants to do more for them but for some reason finished off telling us by shouting out aggressively then thumping his clenched fist quite hard on the table.

Why does Gary do that when he tells us how loving he is ? It's not the first time.
I've seen him finsih off saying how loving he is a few other times before shoiuting out aggressively and punching the air aggressively

It's not a sign of being loving that I know.All the genuine loving people I've known have never finished off shouting aggressively or punching anything with a clenched fist

Yes. He has "no filters" according to his own psychiatrist and is on medication to counteract this.

But I guess his med levels drop sometimes and the real, rather scary, Gary shows through.

I'm betting this happens more often than the highlights indicate.

..yeah I was thinking this when I watched it, it's something I don't think he can help and not actual aggression as such but maybe it does happen a lot and could be one of the reasons why most housemates have criticised him and felt awkward being around him, which is what a lot have said..?..

..yeah I agree, he made it obvious he was going to take it on board and make some changes and didn't just try to subtly do it or criticise the caller for saying it...I love that...I just wondered though for the first time if that's one of the reasons the housemates haven't taken to him because he can seem very aggressive but it isn't meant that way....

..LOL..put it like that..NO, it doesn't matter at all...he's not perfect by a long way I think we all know that and he's probably playing a game but it's been a good game and he's 'hurt' no one/been spiteful etc ...and that to me is a great game...

I agree. I don't think it's specifically a BB game. It feels like the persona he's developed to cope with media situations (perhaps since his surgery). I can't imagine that he carries on like that in real personal situations with people who genuinely mean something to him.

I think the HMs strategy would have been better just to encourage and let him run endlessly with his monologues and not try to actually connect that much at a personal level, perhaps they would not have got so aggravated and frustrated. It looks like that may be what Audley has done - well it looks like Audley doesn't spend too much time around him at all but it's hard to tell with limited view time.

..yeah I agree with all of that..it's funny because of all the people that I think he's probably been his most 'normal self' with in conversations has probably been James more recently..he's seemed so much more relaxed and chilled...but yeah, I think that some for various reasons have just not liked him from the start so would have always found some 'irritations' in him because that's all they've seen..and it's like that when you take an 'instant dislike' to someone, isn't it..?..you always think you're right about them..(or some people do..)...because all you see are the negatives and everyone has those but you miss all of the positive balance as well because you're not attuned to looking for it..and then I think other housemates just jumped on a 'bandwagon' of mocking him and through that naturally became less tolerant thenselves....

I think it's a tic that he has (like people with tourettes), he can't help it and it's probably as a result of brain surgery, it's more prevalent when stressed.
