In your opinion, do too many people die in soaps? I know it has to have entertainment factor but it gets to the point when if you think of a characters history, most of their family/friends have died. I know that is sometimes realistic but not when the majority have been murdered/died in freak accidents. Poll incoming.

Myra McQueen for example has had a son who threw himself off a cliff, a daughter who died in a church explosion and a daughter who died in a train explosion - this has all happened in the last 6 years. She also has an adoptive granddaughter who was murdered in hospital recovering from being shot. Ronnie Mitchell has had a daughter who got run over, a son who died of SIDS and another unborn baby who died. Again all in the last 6 years. Eric Pollard has had a wife who died when a plane crashed into the village and another wife who died when a helicopter crashed into the same village.

Hollyoaks and EastEnders do. Corrie/Emmerdale usually tone it down a bit.

Hollyoaks is the worst at this. EastEnders isn't too bad, seven characters have died in the past year but most of them were minor deaths such as Cyril & Carol which didn't happen in the Square. Last edited by Ashley.; 07-09-2015 at 09:37 PM.

Only 2 people are apparently dying for the 20th anniversary stunt, which is strange considering I think they killed off 6 people for their 18th oop.

If Hollyoaks was real you'd know to avoid living in that village because you can pretty much predict that you aren't leaving there alive.

Nah, i donīt think there is too much. But i only watch Emmerdale, so. Itīs mainly done for gain viewers, since deaths usually bring ratings. Bollyhoax needs a nuclear strike though. Last edited by Calderyon; 08-09-2015 at 06:35 AM.

Not Corrie, not while Dev, Sean, Chesney, Sinead, Kirk, Tyrone & Fiz are still walking the cobbles.
