Default which current footballer would you also like to see as manager

i think Klaas Jan Huntelaar, a dutch international and current Schalke 04 player, would make a good manager for a football club

but also for me Ibrahim Afellay i guess

i see something of a manager or trainer in Afellay, won't you agree with me

but also Ryan Giggs as Manchester United manager instead of Van Gaal

I wouldn't really think any of the recent English players would make good managers with the exception perhaps of Lampard... but even then that's just a gut feeling

and what do you think of Ibrahim Afellay as a manager, can he do that?

if you this picture of Afellay in a suit, and manager wear suits right, do you think he can be a good manager

Controversial opinion : I think English players generally aren't intelligent enough to go on to mangement and this is huge mistake England makes. Mourinho, Wenger and Roy Hodgeson were all crap players but brilliant/ decent managers. Ex English players and football world seem to think all a manager needs to be is an ex player.

Stephen Gerrard says he wants to manage. Hope not. Good LFC captain but lacks true charisma and intelligence to manage. Coaching and managing a two very very different beasts.

This week in an interview Leicester City Jamie Vardy admitted he was shocked at how much preparation Ranieri did for matches compared to predecessor Nigel Pearson. He said Ranieri was up all night formulating tactics and analyisng opposition.

Managing is man management, setting team up, press conference talk, guiding the youth, keeping the squad players up for it, maintaining the older players, charisma, motivation, tactical know how, having a vision, managing transfers, mind games, inspiration, making the players want to play for you, transfer understanding. Very few ex English players know this. Tim Sherwood can talk a good game , motivate but he's tactically hopeless. In Portugal they league have taken their cue from Mourinho and several top managers are either failed players or non players. The sad thing is if the English answer to Pep/ Sir Alex / Mourinho was not an Rx player he'd be rejected.

Frank Lampard could make a good Manager as he seems sensible and intelligent enough to have a competitive side.

Not a fan of ex players necessarily, but to be a manager, an English player needs to have played @ least 2 teams, and 1 abroad, to get a feel of different club environments.

Yes but foreign. However, the British ex players just don't cut it. Pundits in a nice warm studio is their level, wish it were different as bar Poch foreign managers ignore British players if I hey have a choice.

It's the foreign owners who are to blame tbh

Foriegn managers have only really been a thing in Britain over the last 10/15 years
