I think Gina was more funny but Ashleigh was a bigger character/more important to her series.

Instead of standing up to Helen from the start she sat around in her dressing gown moaning for weeks and weeks and when Helen spat out some venom her usual response was to pull a face and roll her eyes, she was boring start to finish.

I disagree. Helen was surrounded by a group of people that seemed to basically worship her, Ashleigh might not have "stood up to her" but she was one of few that could actually see how vile Helen was and didn't bow down to her when she was aggressive and intimidating, despite being years younger and clearly less outspoken. She was the series hero imo
