It occured to me that the
![]() ![]() Is that the case ? If not, suppose with these two side by side ![]() ![]() If they commence to bounce as soon as this page is loaded, how long before they have a synchronised bounce. What would be the time interval between synchronised bounces ? It reminds me of something we used to do in A Level Physics called Beat Frequency which occurs when you have two slightly dissimilar tones sounding close to each other. They interfere with one another and a separate wave form is created called the beat frequency. This would be observed as a sinosoidial increase and decrease in the volume of the two tones as they cancel and reinforce each other. I wondered if it would be the case with ![]() ![]() In other words I need to get out more ![]() |

Or to put it more simply, Sticks:
When two sound waves of different frequency approach your ear, the alternating constructive and destructive interference causes the sound to be alternatively soft and loud - a phenomenon which is called "beating" or producing beats. The beat frequency is equal to the absolute value of the difference in frequency of the two waves. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Or, to put it yet another way, Steve, the little chap on the left seems to be struggling a bit.

Well it appears I am bored, so I thought I'd work out this problem lol
The jump heights of the smileys (in pixels) are: ![]() ![]() So if my maths is right, they bounce on the same spot 1/24 times The interval time between synchronised bounces - hmmmm, Ill get back to you on that one ![]() - Mark |

I seem to remember that, like all animals, fish have their own particular memory span, in their case I think it is between 0 and 4 seconds. So if one times a lap round the bowl he may just forget if he has been here before.................
Glad others also understand the theory on complex harmonics................. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
