Besides, you could have a kid and die in childbirth at the age of 22.

It depends on the individual, can that person care for that child, being and older Mum presents it own risks.

I would say realistically 50 to have a good chance of seeing the child through to adulthood, though obviously there are never any guarantees. I mean if you knock out a kid at 75 there's a pretty good chance you're not going to be at their 10th birthday party.

Obviously for females having kids past 45 - 50 isn't an option anyway without medical intervention. Personally I would say that's the "right" age to stop for both men and women.

But yeah, each to their own I suppose. I personally am glad to have had mine relatively young (first at 24, second at 27)... I can't imagine being up at 3am with a baby even NOW, let alone at 45 .

there is no age limit now with surrogates and frozen bits. The parents could easily have been feeding the daisies for decades before their first child is born
