Joe Exotic’s lawyers so confident of Donald Trump pardon they’ve ‘booked a limo’ to pick him up from prison



Joe Exotic’s lawyers are so confident he will be pardoned by Donald Trump they have booked a limo to pick him up from prison, it is reported.

The Tiger King star, who is currently serving a 22-year sentence for plotting to kill his rival Carol Baskin and for animal cruelty, is hoping to be released by the incumbent US president on Tuesday.

Private investigator Eric Love, who is leading Exotic’s case, said his legal team is planning on whisking the Netflix documentary protagonist away from FMC Prison in Texas.

He told The Sun that “Team Tiger” had already booked a stretch-truck limousine, to take Exotic – real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage – to a secret location to recuperate from his time behind bars.


"We have the limousine fueled up and driver standing by,” Mr Love told the paper. “We are ready for the party.”


Mr Trump is expected to issue more than 100 pardons and commutations on his last full day in office before Joe Biden takes control of the White House.

These are set to include rapper Lil Wayne who faces 10 years in jail after being found with a loaded, gold-plated handgun when his private jet landed in Miami in December 2019.

Speaking about why he believes Exotic will be among the select group, Mr Love told the Metro: “I think the president has sided with us and I believe it will take most of the limelight away from president-elect Joe Biden.”

The lawyer said he had prepared a preemptive video message thanking the outgoing president for his generosity to Exotic.

“Last night, I shot a congratulatory video thanking Donald Trump so we have it queued up and ready to go,” he told the Metro.


Asked what Exotic’s plans include if he is released from the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, Mr Love said: “The first thing Joe wants to do? He wants his hair done.

“He hasn’t had his hair done in two-and-a-half years. That’s the first order of business. Then we’ll probably go and get some pizzas, steak, maybe a McRib.”

If the guy commits animal cruelty then I'd personally keep him locked up for life.

What Trump will do is more than likely the total opposite.

Surely there is way to just..stop him doing **** like this? Hes obviously just trying to set the country on fire to watch it burn when his power goes..sems daft to let him behave like an overgrown toddler in this way, especially when it includes some very dangerous people from the sounds of it

It's ridiculous that they would give one person the power to do something like that, at the very least people guilty of serious or violent crimes should be off the table. What if he decided he wanted to free a serial killer or something, would that be allowed?

It's a fundamental problem with democracy. At some point it relies on "good faith" and Trump is one who most certainly doesn't abide by anything good faith and never has.

Just to complete the picture a bit, both Clinton and Bush pardoned people serving their own interests rather than those of the country. Nothing like the nonsense pardons from Trump, but they set the precedent. In a similar way, at Trumps certification, several Dems objected to the vote of states at that time, with no basis for doing so. So while Trump has taken things to a new level of absurdity, the dems actually did these things first

My comment wasn't specific to Trump though, I don't believe any President should be allowed pardon any criminal. That's what the justice system is there for, allowing 1 person (who most likely has vested interests) the power to over rule that system is a joke and actually a massive **** you to any victims of whichever person is freed

the reason for giving the president pardon capabilities was to allow the rectification of a serious miscarriage of justice, which could apply to a criminal. For example, some black people found in position of a tiny amount of cannabis have been sentenced to life imprisonment with no parole. Previous presidents have exercised pardons in those circumstances. The reality of course is that the justice system should be able to right that wrong, but typically in America, if its a federal crime you are ****ed

Indeed. Seems a weird 'law' or whatever. In theory, they seemingly could release like..terrorists or serial killers on a whim. Seems wrong. There really should be some form of safeguard in place there, rather than 'oh the president has woken up and decided that the boston bomber should be let out tday, there you go' and such

Is the theory that the president could (not likely though but interesting) pardon each and every criminal and empty out the prisons completely correct?! Thats the first thing stepson said when he heard of this.

The levels involved here are completely different, and I'm not defending Clinton. For starters, just dangling pardons so folks wouldn't work with/give testimony to Mueller, versus Clinton appearing at his own impeachment. There is no precedent for how Trump has used pardons, taking either bush or Clinton into consideration.

Would you though? I know it's kind of a jokey thread and we all loved the show but he was found guilty of animal cruelty towards those gorgeous animals and trying to pay someone to kill another person (I know there's a debate on as to whether Carole Baskin is a murderer herself but that's neither here nor there) He's still capable of hiring a hitman
